Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-27. Questions: hello@docsiv.com. These documents are provided as drafts for integration; have qualified counsel review before reliance.
Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes activities and content that are prohibited on the Docsiv Service provided by Docsiv (“we,” “us,” or “our”). It supplements, and is incorporated into, our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms. This AUP applies to everyone who uses the Service, including account holders, their users, and people who access content through client portals or shared links.
You are responsible for your own use of the Service and for the use by anyone you allow to access it, including the content you create, upload, generate, send, or share.
Prohibited content
You may not use the Service to create, upload, store, generate, send, or share content that:
- Is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, obscene, or harmful, or that violates the privacy or intellectual-property rights of others.
- Contains malware, or is designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
- Exploits or endangers minors, or depicts child sexual abuse material.
- Promotes violence, terrorism, illegal activity, or unlawful discrimination or harassment.
Prohibited activities
You may not:
- Violate any law or regulation, or facilitate others in doing so.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service; bypass or attempt to bypass security or authentication; or access non-public areas, accounts, or data without authorization.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure, including by overloading, flooding, or sending automated traffic beyond documented limits.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service without authorization, or resell or sublicense the Service without our written agreement.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or use the Service to impersonate a person or organization in a deceptive way.
AI features
When using AI features, you may not:
- Generate content intended to deceive, including non-consensual deepfakes or deceptive impersonation, or content that omits disclosure where disclosure is legally required.
- Attempt to generate unlawful content, or to circumvent safety systems or usage limits.
- Violate the policies of the underlying model providers, which we pass through to you (see Subprocessors).
- Submit data you are not permitted to share, or rely on AI output without your own review. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete.
Email and communications
The Service can send email on your behalf, including from custom sending domains. You may not:
- Send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or messages that violate anti-spam or electronic-communications laws.
- Use false or misleading sender information, subject lines, or headers, or omit required unsubscribe mechanisms.
- Send messages to recipients who have not consented where consent is required, or continue sending after a recipient opts out.
Payments, invoicing, and signing
You may not use invoicing, payment links, electronic signatures, or client-portal features to facilitate fraud, money laundering, deception, or transactions you are not authorized to make, or to misrepresent the parties to or terms of an agreement.
Sharing and client portals
You are responsible for configuring sharing, links, and portal access appropriately, and for the recipients you invite. Do not use sharing features to distribute prohibited content or to expose another person’s data without a lawful basis.
Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and, where appropriate, remove content, throttle or disable features, or suspend or terminate access, with or without notice depending on the severity and risk. We may cooperate with law enforcement and respond to valid legal process as permitted by law. Suspension or termination for an AUP violation does not entitle you to a refund of prepaid fees.
Reporting abuse
To report content or activity that may violate this AUP, contact hello@docsiv.com with enough detail for us to locate and review it.
Changes
We may update this AUP to reflect changes in our Service, practices, or the law. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice.
