Edit together in real time

See who’s in a file and edit it with them at the same time.

Updated 18 October 20261 min read

On this page

There’s nothing to switch on: when two people open the same file, they’re in it together.

See who’s here

Avatars in the top bar show everyone who has the file open. A green dot means they’re editing.

Edit at the same time

  • Proposals, Reports, Decks and Designs update live as people edit.
  • Whiteboard shows everyone’s shapes and pointers as they draw.
  • Notes shows everyone’s cursors and edits as they type.
  • Spreadsheets syncs cell values and formulas, and shows where others have selected.
  • Documents syncs paragraphs as people write.

Each person’s changes save as they make them, and every saved state is kept in version history, so nothing is lost if two people change the same thing.

Who can join

Everyone in the workspace, and anyone you’ve shared the file with as an Editor. Viewers and commenters see the latest saved version.

Put it into practice

Start a file with Docsiv AI and try the steps as you go.
